ADULT & PEDIATRIC CPR/FIRST AID/AED

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. This is an instructor-led classroom study/skill session. A first Aid/CPR/AED Participants Manual, Breathing Barrier and all materials will be provided for in class use only. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital certification for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two-years.
Anyone currently holding a valid American Red Cross Certification in Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED and wants to renew/challenge their two year certificate are welcome. Please bring a drivers license and your expired American Red Cross certifications card.

Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. Developed by the Alzheimer's Society in the United Kingdom, the Dementia Friends movement is now spreading thorugh Connecticut. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia.
To become a Dementia Friend, attend this one-hour information session and learn five key messages and what it's like to live with dementia. As a Dementia Friend, your new understanding and attitudes will guide the practical actions you can tak eto help someone with dementia living in your community.

IMPORTANT STEPS IN CHOOSING A NURSING REHABILITATIVE CENTER FOR LONG TERM CARE

This session will serve as a catalyst towards thinking, planning, and preparing for the nursing home decision. Whether for a planned short term rehabilitative stay, a need for urgent care following a hospital stay or your health care needs that can no longer be met at home, choosing a nursing home can be a stressful process. The Medicare guidelines for preparing a Nursing Home checklist will be discussed according to your specific health needs and situations.
