If you or a loved one needs long-term care, will you lose your house and all of your assets to the nursing home or to the state? You don't have to! Learn the current Medicaid rules and asset protection strategies so you can plan ahead and preserve your assets. Strategies will be presented for both single and married individuals, of both modest and significant means.

 

BOATING

Starting January 15, 2019, 5-7 weeks

Public boating course given by the Meriden Power Squadron. This course teaches seamanship, boat-handling, rules, use of compass, personal watercraft, etc. Additional 2- weeks will teach how to read a chart, plot courses, and take bearings. This course qualifies you to apply for a Boat Operators Certificate. Fee for course materials. Registration will be the first night.

Participants will be given an opportunity to work through activity ceters creating chemical free products for household and personal use, and will leave with a collection of recipes and formulas.

Learn to LOVE MATH and help your child be successful with numbers.  In this course you will be introduced to a "growth mind-set" - believing that anyone can be successful in math.  Parents will participate in several engaging math tasks that are directly related to district curriculum.  The skills and concepts covered in this course will help parents discover new ways to help with homework at home.  

This course is focused on Grades 4 and 5 math skills.

This class runs Mondays March 4, 11, 18, and 25th  6:00-7:30 p.m.

Workshop instructs parents on how to create a comprehensive plan for the future of their child or dependent with special needs.  Goes beyond limited boundries of wills and trusts.  Issues discussed will include protecting government benefit eligibility, guardianship and conservtorship, the new ABLE Act, SSI/SSDI, and more!  These vital issues ensure not only lifetime, but quality of life for your loved one.  This workshop provides a unique opportunity to learn from someone who has personal experience with these same issues.
